Pigeonly Reviews

I had signed up with Pigeonly and in jail, they told my daughter it was a scam site so I had to cancel my whole card and get another 1. Then my daughter calls and says she got my letter and picture through Pigeonly. I was super excited now I got to sign up all over again I’m waiting on my new card to do so.

I actually thought I wouldn’t like Pigeonly however once I called with my issue and talked to customer care about it they returned my call almost immediately and fixed the issue within the hour. I was super impressed and very satisfied with my service.

Send Photos to Inmates

Being incarcerated is tough. While it is important to pay the price for crimes committed, it is also vital to keep up communication with loved ones. Prison life can be lonely. Often inmates have very little contact with the outside world, simply because it is too difficult or expensive for the families to maintain regular communication.

Photos are essential for inmates. They provide a visual connection to their families, and while they may not be able to see them in person, photos allow inmates to see what their loved ones are doing and how they are changing.

This is especially true for inmates with young children. Kids change so quickly. Without regular photo updates, the inmates often miss out on important life stages. Additionally, if there is a big family occasion like a wedding or baptism, if the inmate has photos of the event, they can feel like they are included.

The Difficulty of Sending Pictures to Federal Inmates

As with everything to do with prison life, there are a lot of rules and regulations surrounding sending photos to loved ones. Furthermore, these rules differ from facility to facility.

If you want to send pictures to inmates, then you need to adhere to all the rules. Otherwise, it could mean that your inmate never receives the photos. This is because they are discarded by the authorities for not meeting the guidelines.

Typically, the general overall rules for sending photos are:

  • The size of the photo must be 8×10 or 4×6
  • Printed on paper with a white background
  • The paper must be a single, plain sheet without creases or folds
  • The number of photos that can be sent is maxed out at ten
  • Photos depicting nudity, violence, tattoos, or logos are generally prohibited
  • Photos depicting maps, blueprints, or anything that may pertain to aiding an inmate’s escape are prohibited
  • The inmate’s ID number must be written on the back
  • The envelope must be plain and white with the facility address written on it, nothing more

It is a lot to remember. Often, a small detail will be forgotten, so it is surprisingly common for inmates’ photos to be rejected and discarded.

How to Send Pictures to Inmates Without Issue

Pigeonly recognizes how absurdly difficult it is to send photos to your loved ones in jail. Therefore, we provide a service that not only makes it incredibly simple for you. It also ensures each inmate receives their photos every time.

Once you sign up for the Pigeonly service, you can use their federal inmate locator tool to find your inmate.

The inmate locator tool is easy to use. All you need is the name of the inmate and, ideally, their ID number as well. If you know which facility they are in, it will speed up the search.

Once you have completed the inmate search, you can use Pigeonly’s service to send photos. All that is required of you is to upload the photos from your phone, tablet, or computer.

Pigeonly will then take your photos, print them, and send them according to the prison facilities rules and guidelines. Since this is a specialist service, you can always be sure that the photos will not ever be rejected by the authorities.

This service is also unlimited, meaning your inmate will never miss a special occasion ever again. Nor will they miss any of their children’s important steps and milestones.

Is The Pigeonly Service Expensive?

Pigeonly makes it incredibly affordable for families to stay in touch with their loved ones. When you sign up for the service, you receive one week for free. After that, it is just $11.66 per month. You are also free to cancel any time, as there are no lengthy contracts.

It is not just photos that Pigeonly provides. Included in the monthly fee are all the following benefits and services:

  • Free inmate lookup
  • Add money to the inmate’s commissary and call accounts
  • Receive the lowest calling rates
  • The ability to send unlimited letters, postcards, and greeting cards
  • The ability to send news and web articles
  • All the help and customer service you need to set up and connect your inmate
  • The ability to connect with as many inmates as you like (additional fees apply)

Photos are essential to making inmates’ lives more bearable in what is otherwise a very tough existence. It gives them hope and makes them feel like they’re a part of the family, even if they cannot be there in person. Bring joy to your loved ones’ life by sending them photos as often as you like via Pigeonly.
